AC Hotel Orlando Downtown is an upscale hotel that rises to the level of its neighbor and fellow Marriott International holding, the upper upscale Hotel Beauden.

Donna and I have been frequent guests of Hotel Beauden, formerly known as the Grande Bohemian Hotel, which means we like it, a lot.

All the while, news that the views AC Hotel Orlando Downtown provides were must-sees kept creeping into my periphery.

I booked a room at the AC Hotel Orlando Downtown for a night, and to my delight, the views from the restaurant-bar area were fantastic.

An open floor plan consisting of the front desk, AC Sky Bar, AC Kitchen and lobby is situated on the eighteenth floor of the Truist Building located at 333 South Garland Ave. Just a stone’s throw from the Kia Center. If you prefer walking to throwing stones, it's a six-minute walk.

The entire area is adorned in beauty with class, highlighted by floor-to-ceiling windows for the much-ballyhooed views.

Regarding the food and drink, I dined at the AC Kitchen for dinner, and later that evening, after a concert, I had a drink at the AC Sky Bar.

My dinner was roasted herb chicken. I substituted a double of the broccolini for, I believe, yucca, though the most recent menu states it comes with Gnocchi. It was fantastic, as was the Pinot Gris.

The meal took a little while to make. The waitress explained that the extra time was needed because it's a thick piece of chicken. Thus, it took a little more time. to cook.

The port wine and olives I ordered after the concert at AC Sky Bar were very enjoyable.

The 18th floor is also where the 24/7 grab-and-go market, known as AC Store, is located.  There is an ample supply of typical snacks, good parfaits and a really nice alcohol selection, including upscale and moderately priced wines.

I did not partake in the morning breakfast, though it looked good.

The AC Hotel Orlando Downtown totals 180 rooms. They are situated on floors 19 through the highest floor in the building, the 25th.

Standard room start on the low side, 301 square feet, hit a moderate 324 square feet and finish at the higher end, 377 square feet. Suites top out at 391 square feet and have floor-to-ceiling windows.

My room was refined. Per the MICHELIN Guide, rooms start at $303, including taxes.

The room was great. If I ever find anything wrong with a room or a bad vibe from the employees, I would not go back. As for the AC Hotel Orlando Downtown, I will be back.
