Trader Joe's Daytona Beach Anounces Opening

The Trader Joe's located within the Tomoka Town Center in Daytona Beach is opening this Friday, Nov. 14. The news was posted on their website earlier this week, stating that they have "found a terrific location for a store in Daytona Beach, FL."

Leading up to the company announcement, many dates had been confirmed, off the record and based on publicly available information, such as a calendar with Nov. 13 posted as opening day.

Another off-the-record date was provided by two anonymous employees as Nov. 10. One of whom said later that there were a few hiccups, which made the Nov. 10 date undoable.  

However, the past is prologue, and now, Daytona Beach will finally have what its residents have yearned for: a specialty grocer.

“Moments before doors open at 9 a.m., there will be a brief ribbon cutting. Store Captain Dina Bombardo and Trader Joe’s Crew Members will be on hand to welcome customers to their new neighborhood store,” a company presser reads.

Trader Joe’s in Daytona Beach has hired greater than 60 employees from the Daytona Beach area. One person familiar with the hiring process said that the quality of the Volusia County residents they interviewed was “phenomenal” and “high-end.”

The presser continued, “the new Daytona Beach Trader Joe’s will donate 100% of products that go unsold but remain fit to enjoy to a range of non-profit, community-based organizations, seven days a week.”

8:55 a.m. - Ceremony begins

9:00 a.m. - Store opens for business

An employee informed that there could be giveaways and food demonstrations.

Trader Joe’s, located at 1511 Cornerstone Blvd, Tomoka Town Center, Daytona Beach, is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
