Yesterday, whilst perusing Facebook restaurant sites, I came across a poster asking if the rumor that they had heard was true. Tiki Docks is closing.

To cut to the chase: It is not true.

I quickly set about contacting folk I know within the Port Orange government and across the Tiki Docks hierarchy, which means the restaurant company known as 23 Restaurant Services.

Herewith is the official response from Katie Bauduc, associate brand manager at 23 Restaurant Services.

"I can confirm that the rumor about Tiki Docks in Port Orange closing is not true," Ms. Baudic replied via email. "We absolutely love being part of the Port Orange community and are so grateful for the continued support from our guests and neighbors. It's our privilege to serve such an amazing area, and we're here to stay!"

Though "here to stay" may be interpreted as a bit over the top, they do have a 20-year lease with property owner Josif Atanasoski. So, short of contractual ways to opt out, they are in Port Orange for a while.

Tiki Docks redesigned the former Fysh Bar & Grill located at 3633 S Ridgewood Ave in Port Orange, Florida, opening in November of last year. Though some have critiqued Tiki as being slow to serve, as was Fysh, others have lauded the great taste of the food.

If you are amongst the latter, or yet to dine there, head down Tiki Docks at the Port Orange Riverwalk confident in the knowledge that it is not closing.
